In the immortal words of Jean Paul Sartre

Bill Murray met the Longhorns during a visit to Austin. Much is being made of the fact that the 'horns have won thier last two games (and 3 out of 4 this season) with the final score of 52-10. Some see the recurring score and Murray's visit (he starred in the movie "Groundhog Day") ironic. Above Murray surveys the near pristine natrual grass in the Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium.

Longhorns (52-10, 42-13, 52-10 & 52-10) meet OU (57-2, 52-26, 55-14 & 35-10) on October 11 in the Cotton Bowl.

space odyssey 2008

The private space company Space Exploration Technologies, or SpaceX, successfully launched a rocket into orbit on Sunday. This is the first privately developed liquid fuel rocket to orbit the Earth. Seen here is the Dragon spaceship. I was fortunate enough to see inside the SpaceX factory thanks to a bald and sickly-looking friend. SpaceX assumed it was a "Make-A-Wish-type situation". Seems I'm not the only one to use this excuse.

Prince songs predict Brazilian News

Man nabbed at airport with 200 birds in bag or "When Doves Cry"

Brazilian authorities detained a Portuguese man at Sao Paulo's international airport with 200 birds in his bag.

Folha OnLine said the accumulated fines for speeding and running red lights total 3.4 million reals ($1.9 million).

We've got some pretty great things in Brazil. Oh yeah, less than 5 months to the start of Carnival! You pick the Prince tune for this one it's just too easy.

I Shall be Released (from my federal tax exempt status)

33 ministers plan to endorse a presidential candidate from their Sunday pulpits in defiance of federal law. They plan to then send copies of their sermons to the Internal Revenue Service, hoping to provoke a challenge to a law that bars religious organizations and other nonprofits that accept tax-deductible contributions from involvement in partisan political campaigns.
Far more interesting: 33 is the atomic number of arsenic.

Ground Control to Major Wong

China's three-man spacecraft shifted from an oval orbit to a more stable circular orbit 213 miles above Earth today in preparation for the country's first attempt at a spacewalk. China's offical Xinhua News Agency was so excited about the event it ran a story on Thursday announcing ground controllers were tracking Chinese astronauts, complete with details and quotes from the astronauts, 12 hours before the astronauts blasted off.

Only By The Night

Imagine my surprise seeing Drew Barrymore making out with Ed Westwick last night during the song “Sex on Fire” at the Kings of Leon concert, in Manhattan. Yesterday marked the release of the new Kings of Leon album. Barrymore is least remembered for movies; Firestarter, Inside the Goldmine and See You in the Morning.

and call it milky mommy

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals sent a letter to Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield, cofounders of Ben & Jerry's Homemade Inc., urging them to replace cow's milk they use in their ice cream products with human breast milk. Ben and I are offering any member of PETA a free cup or cone of Half Baked™ Ice Cream.

the political game

Microsoft today revealed the results of a poll on Xbox Live over the upcoming presidential election. Senator Obama received 43 % of votes compared to Senator McCain's 31 %. 13 % of voters were undecided and another 13 % voted for other candidates.
Barack looks on as I take down the Ultor Corporation, a major corporation that prospers at the expense of the poor and for the profit of their shareholders in Saints Row 2 (due to be released in mid-October).

gere today, gone tomorrow

Baseball has said farewell to an icon of the sport as New York’s Yankee Stadium hosted its final Major League Baseball game. Actor Richard Gere (left) was among those who attended the landmark game, here talking with New York Yankees’ Bobby Abreu (right). I can't believe I had to wait in line behind Richard Gere. Yes, he is showing off his manicure.

upside down you're turnin' me...

Magician and endurance artist, David Blaine, known for living on top of a 90' pole, in boxes (buried underground and in the air), giant fish bowls and blocks of ice (above) announced he will hang upside-down above New York City's Central Park for 60 hours next week.

all the small things

Former Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker (middle) and Adam "DJ AM" Goldstein (left) are in critical condition with extensive burns after a jet crash that killed four people. Wishing a speedy recovery to Travis and Adam. My prayers and sympathy for the those that know and love the four killed in the crash.

baa ram ewe...

Paraded sheep across London Bridge in a reenactment of an 11th century tradition and celebration of the medieval right to walk sheep through the streets of London. This is just further photographic proof of my ewebiquitousness.

i hereby declare...

Waiting for naturalization ceremonies to begin at Fenway Park, in Boston. More than 3,000 people took the oath of citizenship during the ceremony. It was the first ever held at the home of the Red Sox. The guy behind me kept kicking my seat.
